Best material, worst style and fit- for Kuhl pants
I bought these pants because I was planning a month long European backpacking trip and I needed some high-performance pants. These pants are made out of the best material offered by Kuhl; and I say that objectively: Kuhl pants have some of the best designs in the Outdoor Market, but their material choices tend to be poor. If you look at the kind of material they make their pants out of, there’s usually a very high percentage of cotton in the blend and cotton, as all you outdoorsman probably know, is a very poor choice for the outdoors because of cotton’s difficulty with moisture management. It’s very poor at it (think of the old adage, “cotton kills”). These pants however, are made out of what cool Kuhl calls, “Mechanical Stretch Polyester” which offers much better performance in an environment where you have to trust your gear to perform or it could be bad for you, and you can’t replace it. And not only was the performance awesome, the durability was very good, better than many of the other Kuhl options I have, and the pants are quite comfortable and reasonably lightweight, but good for both warm and cool temperatures. Hands-down the best material Kuhl offers pants in and I wish SO bad they would make a 100% polyester version of the “slax” or the “revolver” pant! I would buy those so fast it’s not even funny, because, although the material of these is great, the fit was… not so great. In fact, these are the most ill fitting pair of Kuhl pants that I have (and I have several). The reason why I got into this brand is because their 28X30’s actually fit like a 28X30 should. But the Silencer rouge in 28X30 fit more like a 29X32. And I bought two of them, the khaki and the carbon, and they fit the same, so I know it isn’t an anomaly but a feature. Also, if you look closely at the pictures, you can tell this, but the belt loops are off-center. One belt loop is 1 1/4 inches from the center of the button, and the other is 3 1/2 inches from the center of the button. I’m not sure what the reasoning was behind this or if they were just trying to do something different, but it drives me nuts. They just look a little off kilter. Also, I’m not sure what the seam in the front of the pants is for, it’s kind of unnecessary and just adds weight and I can’t see a purpose for it, and although I’ve got other “rogue” (tapered leg) additions of Kuhl pants, and like the way they taper, these taper somewhat oddly… I’m afraid I can’t really define it, but I can tell you that I look better in the revolver rogue than the silencer rogue, because of the way they taper along with the overall design of the pant. Now with all that being said, I’ve looked long and hard for 100% polyester hiking pants and I still think that these are the best looking of your options… but Kuhl, you could do better, at the very least with dialing in the fit. because of the quality of Kuhl stuff, I’ve come to expect a certain level of quality when I purchase something from you. And again, if we could have Slax or Revolver in this material… 👌. Just a thought. I also love the dual phone pockets on both sides of the pant. They’re large enough to fit an iPhone Max with a life proof case on it. and, of course, the wonderful Kuhl gusseted crotch is as good as usual. So all in all, after testing them on a month-long backpacking trip, I can tell you that these are pants made of quality material with overall decent design, not with standing a few odd and unnecessary (and in my opinion unfortunate) design and or feature choices, mediocre fit, and great features.

High quality
I feel totally comfortable in these high quality pants. They seem slightly looser fitting that some others. I think there are slim and regular fit options.

Quality manufacturing, appropriate belt loop locations, well designed pockets and general fit are some of the reasons I dont want to wear any other pant.

A bride's father's dilemma
Believe it or not, I bought these to wear as "dress pants" for my daughter's wedding. I reasoned, "Why spend money on dress pants that as they age and wear I can't use them for any other purpose such as work pants?" After all, my daughter said to wear whatever makes me comfortable. Plus after putting them on it reminded me of some of my qualit...

Great All-Around Lightweight Pant
These pants are lightweight and therefore better suited for warmer climates. They breathe well, dry quickly, and permit full range of motion. The tapered pant leg means the opening likely will not blouse over your boots or will have to be pulled over the top of your boots, which doesn't bother me personally. I find this to be an ideal pant whe...

Very comfortable and versatile for both active and sitting. The pockets are perfectly placed and secure. These pants wear well and wash/dry well. I have these pants in 3 different colors and will continue to add additional colors over time.
