A New Standard, and Worth The Price
I have been purchasing these Renegade Convertible pants for years. Have probably purchased eight or more. Was a bit shocked when I saw the price go from $99 to $149, but I figured maybe tariffs were part of the story. But I could also see that the pants had been re-tooled, so I went ahead and ordered two more. Upon arrival, I could see that the pants had indeed been upgraded. I love the various pockets, and especially the new wide ones with the prominent zippers and rubberized lining. Plus I love the feel of the fabric as well as the styling and upgraded trim. It definitely feels like the quality of these pants was upgraded, and they had been of high quality previously. Plus there are two improvements in usability related to the zip-off legs. First, I can now more easily remove the legs without the need to remove my shoes (a plus for sure), and second, I LOVE the differing zipper colors on the legs to help identify which detached leg bottom is which - gotta believe that came from listening to customer feedback - bravo!!). The ONLY thing I don't like is that the front belt loops have been moved farther from the front middle of the pant. This makes it harder for my belts to reach the loop, and I'm not a big fan of a floppy belt end. Would have preferred two more loops, with two closer to the front middle. But all-in-all, I'm still very happy with these pants.

I bought these pants for a back country canoe trip and they over exceed my expectations. They are great for hiking and portaging. They were great in the hot heat and perfect when the nights got cooler.
