One Of the All-Time Great Jackets

Bought mine 15 years ago and it still looks awesome. While I love Kuhl’s pants, the Burr jacket might be their crowning achievement. It has both a rugged and classically cool look. With the right color it looks either like a leather or canvas material. It hhas this “fashionable work coat” vibe to it. Looks like something you’d wear on a motorcycle — and with the right shirt — looks good walking into a nice restaurant. The quality of the material and build is amazing. I haven’t so much as had a stray thread appear on the jacket. The fit is super comfortable — the lining makes it slide on and feel terrific to wear. Without insulation it’s not a winter jacket but it’s definitely a three season jacket (depending on how hot your summers are). When I first got the jacket I was wearing during location scouting for a TV show — and its style fit right in with both the above and below the line people on the production. Very first day the production designer saw it, loved it and ordered one for himself. While I don’t wear it as much as I used to (for the first two years I wore it almost every non-hot day) it’s still one of my favorite all-time jackets. My only complaint — is that they no longer make the lined Burr jacket with a normal collar. The wool-lined collar is nice — but I’m so much happier with an older version that is both lined and has the cleaner, more classic look. I’d suggest to Kuhl they think about removing the wool-lined collar on the lined jacket and put that type of collar exclusively on the insulated version. Otherwise … perfection! ,
